Roth IRA Inherited RMD Rules: SECURE 2.0 Updates Explained
Original owners never have RMDs, but heirs must navigate the 10-year rule. Here is what SECURE 2.0 means for your Roth estate.

No RMDs for Original Owners
One of the greatest benefits of the Roth IRA is that the account owner is never required to withdraw funds. You can leave the account untouched to compound until age 95 or 100.
The 10-Year Rule for Non-Spouse Beneficiaries
Under the SECURE Act and SECURE 2.0 regulations, non-eligible designated beneficiaries who inherit a Roth IRA generally must empty the entire account balance by December 31 of the tenth year following the owner’s death. Fortunately, all withdrawals during those 10 years remain completely tax-free!
